A (Somewhat) Irish Mantel

I had the day off today and with 2 kids in school and one who likes to nap the morning away I was able to make a couple of quick crafts and switch up the decor on our mantel! St. Patty’s day is nearing and I thought I would pay homage by using greens and golds to brighten things up.

The shamrock bunting was found at Target and I made the “LUCK” bunting with some burlap ribbon I had on hand. Believe it or not the Atlas Mason jar (below) was from some pasta sauce we had, I just cleaned it out, sprayed it gold and then took some sandpaper to it. It almost gives it that mercury glass look without all the effort!

The old wine jug was found when we cleaned out my grandpa’s house last year, I knew it would eventually come into use! I made the shamrock print and stuck it into an existing frame to tie the other side of the mantel into the St. Patrick’s day theme. My candle with the golden bird anchors the rest in & some bright vibrant flowers to round it all off!

The days are getting warmer which in turn makes me excited to finally see spring coming! Have you changed any decor around the house to get yourself in the spring mood?
