Green Glitter Slime

Green Glitter Slime

Well we finally did it. We fed into the slime craze! I have to be honest with you. It's fun. And borderline relaxing. Kind of like the fidget spinner thing. The kids wanted them, they bought them, and I ended up sitting for hours watching Netflix spinning the fidget. It got so bad that I mastered spinning it on my nose while walking. Impressive, right? Back to the slime. The slime is as satisfying. You can poke holes in it, let it drop from hand to hand, make a ball to watch it 'melt' down. Mindless play for max satisfaction! Now findin[...]

Pineapple & Watermelon Solar Lanterns

Fun Fruity Solar Lanterns

Happy Tuesday! I'm so excited to share this crafty DIY with you today! A couple of years ago I made these Hanging Solar Lights out of some mason jars and they were such a hit. I wanted to jazz them up a bit and after reading through some suggestions, knew that some color had to be added in. So why not take it up a notch and make some fun, fruit inspired solar lanterns? Quick & Easy Playdough

Best Playdough Ever

It's a bold claim, but it's true. This IS the best playdough you'll make! We've had a few dreary, rainy days lately and although I could lay in bed all day with a book and a hot cup of coffee, I have kids who can't. I hate to mislead you though, I can't actually remember the last time I lazed about like that! Read a book? What is that? We've started to limit the amount of screen time that's been happening in the house lately & with that comes chorus' of "I'm bored" & "there's nothing to do". It's as though they don't know what a yard, or a book[...]

Resurrecting the Raised Garden

Raised Garden Goodness

I never had a garden of my own before we moved to our current home. With my first home, I was too busy thinning out trees and rehabilitating the lawn. Before I knew it, the house was for sale and there was no garden! Our last yard just lacked the overall space for a garden. What could have worked was instead turned into an area to gather around a fire with friends. When we moved to the house we're currently in, there was already a raised garden planted in front of the deck. It was roughly 16' long, 2' wide and 3'6" tall. It was perfect! It was origina[...]

Summer Fun: How to Make Sponge Balls

Make these DIY Sponge Balls for some backyard summer fun!

This weekend was a beauty one! The weather was hot, the sun was shining & the rain clouds stayed at bay. I don't want to jinx it but I think summer is rolling on in to stay. What is the best thing to do when its hot outside? I mean other than sitting at the lake with a drink in hand. Two words. WATER. FIGHTS. There is nothing that beats a good old water fight on a hot summer day. But what do you do when you don't have enough water guns to go around?  You make sponge balls! These cost me a whopping $2.50 to make and took 10 minutes[...]
