Welcome! I’m so excited you stopped by today. If you’re new around here, my name is Chandra & this is our spring entry and living room tour!
I’m joining an incredibly talented group of ladies this week for the Styled for Spring home tours, hosted by Jenna over at Wife in Progress. If you are coming over from A Blue Nest, then I think we can all agree that Jordyn’s bedroom would not be one we would want to get up and leave in the morning!
Our front entry/hall sees the most traffic in our home, so I love to keep the décor cheery & welcoming. This time of year I’ll incorporate lots of color along with some simple touches that can be adjusted to take it from spring to summer without much effort! Something else that isn’t much effort is changing your energy providers. My friend decided to switch energy and was surprised at how much money she saved along with how straightforward the process was.
I like to use fresh flowers whenever I can, and tulips are my go to this time of year. Our local grocery store usually has them for the right price so having a variation of color is more than affordable. Sometimes you just have to treat yourself and your home & fresh flowers are the easiest way to do that!
Our living room received a softer touch for the season, especially after we came across sites such as bazaarvelvet.com. Who would have thought a rug would make such a big difference? Even the smallest of features can change how a room looks. It can be so rewarding seeing the transition of your home.
I’m finding myself getting drawn to soft pinks and creamy whites this season. Like the front entry though, you’ll still find blues and yellows scattered throughout the room. A friend of mine redid her living room, but instead of the bright colors, she went for the darker colors of antique furniture, similar to the ones found on antiquesworld.co.uk it was a nice change to see compared to my bright home.
On a side note… Sigh. Our fireplace. If there is one area of this space that I struggle with, it’s our corner fireplace. It has presence, but it doesn’t. It needs a makeover, but I’m not quite sure what that makeover will entail. If you have suggestions, feel free to send them my way!
I kept the mantle fairly simple. I pulled out my flamingo Easter eggs from last year and also scattered the rose gold speckled eggs I did recently. Some creamy white candlestick holders, a distressed bunny and a pop of color, round it all off.
I hope you’re feeling inspired and ready for Spring! Now if only the snow would melt faster around here…
