Furniture Makeovers

From Old Frame to New Chalkboard

So, not sure about you guys but we had quite an eventful weekend! We woke up bright and early on Saturday morning to news that our neighbourhood was hit by vandals (aka little pukes) and then to the further discovery that Eric's truck was stolen. It was all kinds of awesomeness. Puke. Thankfully we're insured through a pretty great company (haha) and they found the damn thing stuck in an alley on the other side of town that same evening. It was probably the worlds longest 12 hours of both of our lives. Sunday was spent searching the area the truck was found for[...]

The Pros & Cons of Chalky Finish Spray Paint

I was so excited when I found out that Krylon made a chalky finish spray paint and then even MORE excited when I found some at our local Home Hardware. Talk about the best of both worlds, two of my favorite things all rolled into one can. Last week I finally had to the chance to try it out & I have to say that I'm a fan. Before I get into the nitty gritty, this is not a sponsored post, I just want to share with you my thoughts on my new fave way to chalk paint! I picked up a couple of cans of chalky finish Paver Gray and used it on two chair frames[...]

Chair Re-Upholstery…the easy way

This post contains affiliate links. Please see my full disclosure policy HERE. If there's one thing I love in a living room, it's a good accent chair. If there's one thing lacking in our living room, it's a good accent chair....or two. You'll remember awhile ago I purchased these two beauties off a buy and sell page for pretty cheap. Then you'll probably remember that I painted one with milk paint (read about it here). Well, over time the milk paint didn't hold up as well as I wanted it to (that's a whole other post), so it was time to try something[...]

Lego Man Display Shelf

Have you seen the meme that says "I hope you step on a Lego?" Yeah....not the funnest thing to do. Some of my best compilations of 4 letter words have come from stepping on those cursed little plastic bricks.  You have to admit though, they are fun to build & you can seriously build anything out of them. Carter and I watched the Lego documentary one dreary afternoon and they replicated an X-Wing fighter from Star Wars. Not sure what that is? Think along the lines of a full size fighter jet...made from Lego. Holy Frick, right?!  And here I get all e[...]

Bathroom Cabinet Makeover

Well we made it to Friday! No missed busses, no forgotten lunches, no tears, it's good to be Friday! SO, remember when I mentioned that we were finishing up the bathroom in our basement? Well it's slow going, but we're seeing progress! We finally picked out a vanity, countertop and some hardware to go with it all & I'll be so glad to see it finished up. I mean, we've only been living in this house for 3 years this October. Our house was built in 2005 and all the cabinets and vanities throughout the house match. It's nice having the uniformity throughout but[...]
